Invisalign

Invisalign is at the forefront of modern orthodontics. They are incredibly discreet and are virtually invisible when they are being worn. They also take away worry and hassle over broken wires used in more traditional orthodontic treatment.

Invisalign are removable aligners that cover your teeth front and back and fit snugly to your teeth. They are made of clear, medical grade plastic that is near invisible once placed onto the teeth. It is possible to treat minor to complex teeth misalignment with Invisalign. We can also use them to help close any dental gaps.

With this treatment option, we take dental impressions as each set of aligners is custom made for you. This ensures a comfortable, close fit and allows each set of aligners to gently shift your teeth into place, making the experience more comfortable than in traditional braces where tightening them can be uncomfortable while your teeth adjust.

During the course of treatment you will be given a new set of clear aligners every two weeks. Each set gradually moves your teeth into the correct alignment. When you come in for your check up, you will be given the new set of aligners to keep the process as simple as possible.

As they are custom made, the treatment period is often shorter than with more traditional orthodontic appliances. On average, treatment with Invisalign takes 6 months. Most patients can feel the difference after 3 months of treatment, and we start to see visual changes around the 6 month mark. This will depend on how complex your case is.

Invisalign can be used to treat both adults and children. For adults they are convenient given that they cannot be seen and they are removable, making it easy to eat and brush your teeth. They can even be taken out for social events if you feel more confident without them.

For children, their custom fit is ultimately a much more comfortable experience. The clearness of the aligners are a great feature for any children that are more naturally self-conscious and worried about the impact of braces on their appearance. Because they are custom made to fit each individual patient, they can also be worn during music or sports practice and other extra curricular activities.

It is recommended that clear aligners are worn for 22 hours of the day, to ensure the most effective outcome. This is easy to do as their whole design has been manufactured to fit around your lifestyle without having to constantly remove them.
