Fixed braces are made of brackets (little pallets) that are glued to the teeth, allowing the teeth to be moved. They are made of metal, plastic or ceramic. A flexible wire is then attached to all brackets sometimes with a small elastic ring. The wire is the actual force to slowly move the teeth into the correct position and during treatment will need to be changed occasionally to tighten the brace.
